WATERSIDE RENOVATION
Challenge - the client had wanted to renovate their kitchen and add more light into the house as the older home was dark and the kitchen wasn’t as functional for the active cook.
Solution - in order to bring more light into the space we added a larger window in the kitchen which looks out onto the client’s well tended gardens. We rearranged the working spaces and added new cabinets, lighting, a barn door with a larger opening to the dining room and new color to the space. The client had a collection of colorful knobs and decorative plates which we reused to enliven and personalize the space. Adjacent rooms received additional lighting and repainting as well.
Solution - The project began with a “not so interesting” ranch home well situated on the Puget Sound with views out toward Seattle. Studiolo provided a design and worked with an engineer to create a more friendly entry, porches to take advantage of the views and better details to create warmth and interest. Our approach was to add new trim on all exterior doors and windows, add decks with new copper railings, paint the house and provide additional detail and interest.
